Finding Calm in Motherhood Abroad: My Journey with Yoga

When I became a mom abroad, I often felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and disconnected from myself. Yoga became my anchor — not in long studio sessions, but in short, simple practices that helped me quiet the outside noise, reconnect with my inner voice, and find peace in daily life.

That’s why I’m now building a space for moms like me — to show that yoga and mindfulness can fit into busy mom-life and actually make it easier. Below, I’m answering some of the most common questions I hear about my journey, my free 5-Day Yoga Reset, and how yoga can support mothers abroad.

Q1. Can you share a little about your journey into yoga and why it became important in your life as a mom abroad?

“I started practicing yoga more than 10 years ago. For me, yoga was a way to reconnect with myself and quiet all the external voices — what people think, what society expects, and all those outside pressures. It gave me peace, calm, and the confidence to trust my own path. Now, as a mother, I see how important that is. We’re raising the next generation, and I want to share my experience so other moms can also find their inner voice, strength, and calm in the middle of motherhood.”

Q2. Many moms feel they don’t have time for yoga. What do you say to them?

“I completely understand — it’s not easy, especially when everyone is at home and there’s always something to do. But yoga doesn’t have to take a lot of time. Even 10–15 minutes a day can make a big difference. The key is to remind ourselves that we do have the time — it’s just about choosing to give ourselves that small moment. And when we do, the benefits ripple into the rest of our day.”

Q3. Your freebie is called The 5-Day Yoga Reset for Moms. What inspired you to create it, and what can moms expect if they join?

“What inspired me to create the 5-Day Yoga Reset is that I really wanted to help mothers build a habit of yoga and mindfulness, even in the chaos of daily life. I know it can be messy and unorganized when you have kids at home, and it’s easy to feel like there’s never time for yourself. But even 10–15 minutes can make a real difference. I wanted to create something easy and doable so that other moms can feel those tiny, transformative shifts in their day.”

Q4. You talk a lot about mindfulness and parenting. How do yoga and mindful living come together in daily mom-life chaos?

“Absolutely. I think yoga and mindfulness are deeply connected. Yoga is the physical practice — like the asanas and movements for your body — while mindfulness is more about how we train our mind to stay present and find our inner voice. They work hand-in-hand, especially when you have little kids and it feels like you’re always catering to everyone else’s needs. By building these small daily habits of yoga and mindfulness, we can stay calmer and make our parenting journey a lot easier.”

Q5. If a mom has just 5 minutes in her day, what’s one simple yoga or breathing practice she could try right now?

“If you’ve only got five minutes, I’d suggest starting with five deep, slow breaths to help calm your nerves and ground yourself. Then you can do three simple poses: a minute in child’s pose, a minute in puppy pose (heart-melting pose), and a minute in downward-facing dog. Just holding each for about a minute can really help you reset and find a little calm in your day.”

Q6. Looking forward, what’s your vision for your yoga business and the community you’re building?

“My vision is really about creating a space where moms abroad feel soothed and supported on their parenting journey. I want them to find my content not just helpful, but also inspiring — a way for them to practice yoga, connect with themselves, and realize they’re not alone. I imagine a community where moms can share their voices, support each other, and feel heard. That’s really the heart of what I’m building.”

✨ Final Thoughts

Yoga doesn’t need to be long or complicated to make a difference. Just a few mindful minutes each day can transform the way we show up for ourselves and our families.
